Peach Cashew Coffee Cake - THB

Image
Peach-Cashew Coffee Cake  The scheduled recipe for the Home Bakers is a Peach-Cashew Coffee Cake and I am happy to say that I made this choice.  I love peaches and hubby loves nuts so we have a cake akin to a marriage made in heaven. When, I chose the cake, I did not know it was to be scheduled at this time but once I got the date, I thought, I would be able to pull it off and I guess I have.  I feel badly that I didn't get better photos but it has been an incredibly busy month with school and the Jewish holy days, which I am sure I have repeated over and over again.  I had no time to make this a second time although, I am thinking, it would be a wonderful cake for the upcoming Succot holidays.  If I do make it, I plan to update the photos, if they are better. I am sharing the recipe as it is written in the book.  I made mine gluten-free to accommodate my husband.  I ended up using frozen peaches to save the time of preparing fresh pea...

Peach Cobbler Muffins

There are blogs that are addictive and A Well Seasoned Life is one of them.  There are fabulous sweet recipes even one called, Peach Enchiladas.   All those with a sweet tooth could bake their way through this blog, recipe by recipe. To make it better, there is a linky with more delightful desserts - all sorts of sweets.  You could just move in there and bake.  Please, find out for yourself. When, I stopped there before, I saw a recipe for Peach Cobbler Muffins, I wanted to link to Muffin Mondays, weekly and have been on the look-out for new recipes.  I have a few to make but when I saw this one, I ran to the kitchen and 1-2-3, they were made.  That fast........  In the midst of my baking, I realized there was no egg in the recipe and stopped.  Have you ever been in that place?  You are working at full speed, waiting for a tantalizing recipe and something leaves you with a question and you feel like you can't move forward.  Since,...

Peach Rhubarb Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

The children of one of my son's came to spend the Sabbath with us.  Since, I am recuperating, they brought the entire meal, with them and they were here, to take the stress off of me, and do the serving, preparation, clearing and basically what I should not, yet do. No self respecting Bubby (grandma) allows her grandchildren to visit without baking so despite my limitations, I did just that.  With hubby, on hand, to get the bowls and put the baked goods , in the oven, I went to work and made two quick recipes that we all love, chocolate chip cookies and one of Dorie's brownies.  I used a better chocolate in the brownies and I admit, it makes a difference.  These were the best brownies and I will blog them at My Sweet and Savory for Monday 's Baking with Dorie. I had the kids covered although they brought cinnamon rolls with them so we were well- desserted (yes, I made up that word.)  Hubby had a delicious new muffin to eat but I felt badly for him so, again wi...

Peach Pie Smoothie

Image
Photo: Peach Pie Smoothie Recipe Food Network photo I saw the name Peach Pie Smoothie and had to make it.  I am sure if this had been called a peach smoothie, the recipe would have been the same and I would have passed it by.  I am sure, I am not the only one who is attracted by the name of a recipe or the ingredients.  So, because of the word, "pie", we are drinking healthy and delicious peach drinks.  I have a feeling, next time, I make this, I will add almond flavoring and blueberries to the peaches for a variation. Peach Pie Smoothie Adapted Ellie Krieger, Prep Time: 5 min       serving, 2 cups I ngredients:  (I doubled this or we would not have enough.  We drank it with a savory lunch and it was just right for this.   I only doubled the milk, yogurt and peaches.  It did not need additional flavoring.  If you like it sweeter, add another tablespoon honey.) 1/2 cup nonfat or 1 ...
