S'Mores Brownies Secret Recipe Surprise

Those who belong to the Secret Recipe Club have a lot of fun.  I know that, each month, I look forward to finding out who my secret blogger is.  Then, there is the experience of exploring a new blog or one we have visited.  Most of us face a bit of frustration trying to narrow down all the recipes to just one.   I would be very disappointed if I didn't find one waiting for me, when the reveal came about.

One blogger did not find any post for her, this month. Many of us felt badly about this, knowing how much fun, it is to see what someone has done to one of our recipes as well as what the blogger selected.  Our dear organizer, Amanda came up with a wonderful idea and asked us, if we had time, with about 18 hours left, to make something from the blog, Connors' Cooking.

I guessed that there would be something baked on that blog and I accepted the challenge.  My grandchildren are coming over and I had planned to bake for them, today.  Why not bake a Connor's recipe and accomplish two things, at one time.

Then came to the usual problem, what to bake, from the blog.  I copied a number of pages and printed them up and sat down, shuffling papers, to determine which would be the best.  The S'mores Brownies called for a Brownie mix.  I don't know if is insecurity or what that I keep only one mix, in my kitchen, and that is a brownie mix.  There are so many different ways to make the simple brownie more elaborate and I like knowing it is there.

That, of course, made this recipe, a snap to make.  I made a few changes.  Kosher marshmallows are made differently than the regular marshmallow, you buy in the supermarkets.  I am not sure what causes it but I learned, rather quickly, they tend to disappear when baked and I have not been able to get them to melt.  I used Marshmallow Fluff or Creme in place of the mini marshmallows.  Otherwise, it was easy to keep to the recipe.  I did change the size of the pan, as well.

Connor's Cooking: S'mores Brownies

S'mores Brownies

1 (21 oz) package Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix

1 cup marshmallow fluff or creme

 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips  (I added a half of a cup.)

graham crackers, broken into halves

Preheat oven to 350. Grease the bottom of a 9 inch square pan.
Prepare and bake brownie mix following the recipe on the package.
Immediately upon removal from the oven, sprinkle marshmallows and chocolate chips over warm brownie mix. Return to hot oven for about 2 minutes to melt.
Arrange graham crackers on top of hot marshmallows and press lightly. Cool completely and cut into servings around the graham crackers.

Now, all you have to do is refrain from eating too many and check out Connor's Cooking for lots of other good recipes.  Don't you love the Secret Recipe Club and its loving and generous members.  A number of other people have made Connor recipe.  They will be on the linky below.
